Thanks for taking a look into this issue. Eagerly waiting your solution.

No Autopower-Function with Snow Leopard 10.6.1

The same problem here in Germany. Many Linkstation-Users are very angry, that Buffalo takes so much time to fix the Firmware and the NASNavigator Software. Snow Leopard is not a Surprise - every Developer was informed about the new OS Release a long time before.

We need a solution!

Best Regards

It isn't the LS firmware - Mac NasNavi is what communicates with the LS, and let's the LS know that it shouldn't go into low power mode.

We are about to receive a beta version of Mac NasNavi that should resolve the issue. We will test it for a couple days, and if it passes testing,  we'll let you know when you can expect it.

Hello!

Are there news about the Beta release?

Thanks

drmemory

We tested it, QA says "it seemed to work, but has other major bugs in it."

Buffalo Japan engineers should be working on it, but they won't communicate back until Thursday of next week (Japanese holiday).

Thank you for let us know.

By the way, if you could also solve the wifi related problem that many users mentioned on this forum:

no keep-alive package sent thru wifi... we have to run a wired computer so we can connect a wifi Mac!

Something new from Buffalo? When do we get the new Driver?

drmemory

Buffalo Japan is working on it. I've provided them with everything they asked for - details about how the alpha FW is working and it's bugs.

I'll keep pushing for it.

Any news? We're waiting for the fix pretty long now, IMO!

BTW: Is there a new Firmware for the LS-CHL (v1) planned, too?

Memoryman

It's not a firmware fix - it's a mac nasnavi fix. Nasnavi is what sends the keep alive packet.

Yes, we're still pushing Japan to provide final version of the next revision ASAP.

>>It's not a firmware fix

I know. That's the reason why I asked if there is a FW update planned, too!  ;-)

Hope the new NASNavi (and hopefully FW update) will also be available on the European website then (and not only in some months, like happened in the past).

I have the same problem here. Is NAS NAV 2.19 supposed to fix that or should it be a future release? Any views on timing

Same problem here between a linkstation pro duo and Snow Leopard. I use the nasnavigator version 2.20, and the problem is still here!

Memoryman

Mac NASNavi 2.21 is due out shortly - this is the one that has updated keep-alive packets that will work with snow-leopard to keep the units on during data transfers, when in auto-mode.
