Long Shutdown, EM Mode?

At some point overnight my LinkStation LS-XL went into EM mode. I noticed it today when the Windows 7 drive mapping was broken. I followed the directions for a firmware update and the program told me that something failed because the drive rebooted into EM mode. It suggested I reboot the drive and try again.

I shutdown the drive from the NASNav program about 30 minutes ago and it is still blinking blue.

  • How long should I wait to pull the plug?
Is it toast and I need to try to rip out the drive?
