Moving HDD from LS-CH1.0TL to LS-V2.0L

Hi Guys,

I have these two Linkstation LS-CH1.0TL and LS-V2.0L. Recently due to multiple power interruptions LS-CH1.0TL went into EM mode and keep restarting :( while LS-V2.0L got HDD crashed :( :( . I have taken both of them apart and checked hard drives. The crashed HDD has nothing cant even find partitions and has lots of bad blocks while HDD of LS-CH1.0TL looks good. If I put This HDD in the box of LS-V2.0L then should not this be working ? I tried just now and connected to laptop using ethernet cable it shows nothing. Is the internal file system is based on model? what am i doing wrong?

This wont work, Totally different units. Most likely your LS-CH uses the blue firmware while the LS-VL uses the red firmware. Best way to tell them apart. Your going to have to use a linux base OS to recover your data. Or install a software called ufsexplorer to recover it using a windows computer.

Thanks I have already recovered the data using UFS explorer. I just want to put this HDD into another so at least one LS I can use.

Your going to have to use TFTP to get the other unit to accept this drive. Recommend formatting drive to unallocated

It says LS-XL but they use the same TFTP as the LS-VL so no problems
