New LinkStation firmware 1.60 - issues and problems on DLNA

Had the amber light flashing on my LS, announcing a new firmware release. Upgraded to 1.60 and Twonky 6.0.42-dev.

All avi video files (xvid) are now recognized as mpeg2 (via DLNA) and fail to play on my Sony Bravia. The same files are correctly recognized as avi when directly attached to the Bravia via USB key. MP3 files are no longer found.

Have downgraded to LS 1.57, but no change. Twonky version is still at 6.0.42-dev.

Location is Australia, upgrade to 1.60 was via the LS.

Any advice welcome.

Edit1: Is there any way to downgrade Twonky?

Edit2: Rolled back to 1.58 which includes Twonky 4.4.19_e2...all now appears to work correctly. Looks like it could be a Twonky issue...

Hi

I am having same issues network disconnects after 30 mins i have also downgraded to firmware 1.57 but twonky is still at  6.0.42-dev s there a way to downgrade twonky.  i have a samsung 7 series smart tv connected via wireless....to me it seems like Twonky

I have the following problem after the upgrade to firmware 1.60:

I access the Linkstation as a mediaserver via my WD TV Live mediaplayer. I can view all avi movies just fine, also the music plays just fine.

However, the pictures show up really bad, which means a very low resolution: pictures with an average file size of 2MB show up only in "thumbnail" version. When look at the properties of the picture displayed, it tells that the file size is only 12kB...

When I double check the picture with sambamount on my pc, then it shows the correct 2MB size image.

So the problem is not with the stored pictures, they are still there. My guess is that the Twonky mediaserver is not correctly handling the picture towards the WD mediaplayer.

Is there a way to check this, and to fix the problem? I didn't have this problem before with the older firmware.

I bought the Linkstation in the Netherlands, and the firmware update was installed automatically via the Linkstation webinterface.

Thanks!

Rebuilding the database via Twonky did not help. Same problem like before, Blu-Ray-Player disconnects from LS after a while.

I think also the DLNA Update is the problem, and not 1.6 Firmware.

Whe need a solution, please.

Yes we do. In the meantime, I did the downgrade to 1.57 and all is well again. But I like the new features of the twonky update, but I can live without that so long as my linkstation isn't disconnecting constantly anymore!

Hi All, Can someone please advise the proper settings for my NAS getting the torrent client to work. It has worked fine with previous fw 1.57.

Updated to 1.60 and I could not get torrent client to work.

LS-CHL-1.0TB FW 1.57 (briefly 1.60)

I "tried" to force it back to fw 1.57 seemed to work but I cannot get the torrent client working properly anymore and I've started to doubt my settings.

Please look at following screen shots and advise which settings I should use.

Please advise... Thank you.

The bittorrent problem is also discussed in another thread:

http://forums.buffalotech.com/t5/Storage/Bittorent-not-Working-after-Firmware-update/td-p/80757/page/5

Seems to be widespread and no solution yet. It only affect magnet links without http trackers. Torrent files still works if they contain active trackers.

Good to see I am not alone. and to the previous poster wondering about his router settings I wouldnt bother,

Kinda pissed off about this as everything was working perfectly and from what I can remember the update mentioned something about SMB security ? I am only going by what I saw in the box b efore I updated via the Linkstations webpage

I hope a new update comes soon !

Had to search for where I found it,...

ftp://buffalokorea.dyndns.org/array1/buffalo/buffalo%20server/Storage/LinkStation/LinkStation_FW_1.58_win.zip" target="_blank">ftp://buffalokorea.dyndns.org/array1/buffalo/buffalo%20server/Storage/LinkStation/LinkStation_FW_1.58_win.zip

Looks to be the Buffalo FTP site...

Hi All

I can confirm that the above mentioned roll back to firmware 1.58 with Twonky version 4.4.19_e2 fixes the issue of the Linkstation disconecting after about 30-40 minutes on a samsung T.V

Happy Days
