I have a LS-CH1.0TL, Windows XP Professional SP 2.  It won't recognize, so I am not sure of the firmware.

I've had the drive for a few months and it has been working great.  I typically use the auto on feature.  When I tried to access the drive this morning, I was unable to access the files - the windows status was "disconnected network drive".  When I switched the drive off, the drive light kept flickering.

After a few minutes, I unplugged the drive, and rebooted the pc.  I plugged it back in, tried running the NAS Navigator, tried turning off the firewall, but nothing appears. THe light keeps flickering.

One thing that may be different, is that I just installed some windows updates.

I fear it may be a hardware issue.  Any thoughts?  If it is hardware what are my options?

Thanks,
Erik

Turn the unit's power function to Manual not Auto (at least for trouble shooting this).

Which light is actually flashing? Power should by steady, Link/Act should flicker, if the Info or Error light is flashing count the number of times it flashes (there maybe different lengths, long and short. Count these seperatly. For example 1 long and 6 short would be an E/I 16).

After you get that info... Hold the reset button as you power the unit on (to boot into EM mode) and see if the Navi can find it then.

I turned the power to manual - on.  After many short flicks - too many to count the power LED is steady.  I couldn't discern a number of flickers.

It did boot into EM Mode automatically.  when I opened NAS Navigator it said EM MOde detected, upgrade firmware or contact tech support.

I might call tech support.

so i called tech support, and I had to upgrade the firmware, an unfortunately had to format the drive and lost all of my data.  :(

I have a backup of the important stuff, but lost a lot of my media. Ouch, only had the drive 2 months and it failed.

Does anyone know of a way to try to recover the data after formatting?
