Sadly lost my password for the LS-QVL.I tried:

1.Press FUNC btn to restore the default settings;

2.Try to upgrade the firmware(Failed cos there is password needed during the procedures)

This model cant  enter em mode by manual...what else can I do? Please help me. Thanks  a lot.

Please switch the unit to off and wait until the lights are off.

Hold the function button for 10 seconds while it is still off.

While still holding the function button after 10 seconds please press the power button.

Once the function light begins to blink release the function button and press it again for one second.

Wait until the power light is solid and this will restore your unit.

This process will not delete any data and will only restore the admin password and set the IP address back to DHCP.

HI There - I have a Linkstation LS-QV4.0TL/R5 and also have a password problem.

A few days ago it became unresponsive so I attempted to poer it off and on.

When it came back up in NasNavi it was in EM mode. After checking the forums it seemed that I should update the firmware.

I have flashed the firmware to 1.56 which seemed sucessful until it asked for a password at the end of the update.

All password attempts failed.

I can now see that I have data on my NAS but I cannot map to it.

I have attempted to reset the password by holding in Function for 10 seconds then power untill function flashes then release and then function for 1 second.

it still fails to default back to admn password.

Any more suggestions?

After a little more hunting around I finally found the LSUpdater tool. Ran it an it reset my passwor and left all data intact!

Problem solved

I'm in the same boat, only I used the LSUpdator tool to update the firmaware and still the same result. no passwords or user name will work. Now when I attempt to use the LSUpdator tool, it says there are no linkstations that need updating?

Any thoughts? resetting the unit did not work, and I'm pretty sure I have the correct password that was set before the update, and it will not work.
