FTP on mini

   I have the ip address on my router that I have through whatismyip and I am using the login info that I use to login into my hardrive when I want to change the settings. I have also tried the logins I have for online access. It won't connect on or away from my network.

Do you have FTP service Enabled AS WELL as FTP on each folder that you want FTP access.

 

Then when your logging into FTP have to use a username and password that you have created (not one that is already on there by default) in "User Management".

   I have ftp enabled and it enabled on each folder. I created a couple of users and non of them have access. I am taking my ip address from whatismyip.com and then using the user names and passwords that I created. I am assuming it is port 2121

I get ECONNREFUSE ON THE FTP CLIENT.  I opened port forwarding on my router so it points to the ip address of the drive but that did not work either?

   You want to forward port 20 AND 21 to the LS

on a mac I did that and now I am getting a time out.

Okay, it could be a corrupted file in the FW that is not allowing FTP access. Try initializing the unit through the Web interface (Maintenance> Initialization> Restore to factory Defaults). Then setup the unit agian, and before putting any Access restrictions on the folders try setting up FTP and see if you can get it to work without anytype of restrictions.

 

Also try accessing FTP through it's local  IP address rather then your Public IP.

   I am getting the same error even trying to connect to the local ip?

I reset it to default and still the same error?Could I sign in as a guest if so how?
