LS-XH1.0TL NAS will not accept password after firmware update

My NAS went into EM mode. I followed instructions to upgrade firmware to 1.54 and now the password will not be accepted and the default will not work either.  I can see the HDD in the NASNavigator. All the data appears to still be intact, however I cannot get past this password problem.  When I try to map the drive I get the error: Failed mapping. Remote default share is missing.  I saw where a few others had this issue and were sent a file to fix their issue.  I would appreciate the fix... Thank you.

Your recovery file worked. Why won't Buffalo post the fix in the support section? Just doesn't make sense to me.  So many people have had this problem with this product. (Spent most of the weekend and this week banging my head against the desk trying to figure it out.) Shame on you Buffalo!!!

And why is this not shared by Buffalo .

Its so easy .

This worked a treat on my LS-WVL104.

 

Followed the intructions and it reset the password after 1 min

 

I was then able to login using the default user and p/w via the web admin.  When I logged in I was then able to run the firmware update to installed 1.54 on the NAS.

Are you the man with the answers?  I have a LS-WXLF17 that was accidentally powered down and went into EM.  I updated the firmware to v1.54 and have since not been able to map to the share.

 

Failed mapping.

Remote default share is missing.

 

But the HDD and data look like they are still there using the NasNavigator and I can see the share by logging on with the defaults via IE, I am just not able to browse.  I have also tried a direct connection and adjacent IP addresses to no avail;  I'm stumped.

I have exactly the same problem with jcsmith1000, but on LS-CH1.0TL.

Everything looks OK except it doesn't remember default password.

 

I wonder if the solution you provided to him will also work for me.
