LinkStation Quad
« on: January 08, 2009, 11:22:24 PM »

I'm loving all the features of this LinkStation Quad!

The only issue I'm having is managing the bittorrent directories. I had the client set to store files in one spot but then decided to change the spot.

I connect from my Mac as admin but I can't delete, move or in any way affect the directories under the old bittorrent directory. I'm told that I have insufficient privileges. How can I get these old directories and files deleted?

The model is LS-QLC28 and the firmware is 1.02

Thanks,

Topher

this is an issue with all the buffalo device with bit torrent, there are new FW's in development that should solve the issue, however there are no release dates yet.
PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.
Having network issues? Drop me an email: info@interwebnetworks.com and we will get it fixed!

The 1.04 firmware fixes the bittorrent issues.

Sweet. Thanks, fellas.

And just to be sure, updating the firmware is expected to -not require backing up- all the data first, right (though of course, sometimes things go awry)?

Thanks again,

Correct, the FW update does not touch the data portion. Of course, it is better to be safe than sorry. If there is data you cannot lose, then don't risk losing it, make a back up (if possible).

Is there a Mac OS version of FW 1.04? There is no link on downloads page.

Unfortunately we only have the Windows updater for firmware 1.04. I'll request that a Mac version be created.
