Linkstation network interference

I bought the following from CDW on 12/15/08 :

Linkstation Pro Duo

Model LS-W1.0TGL/R1-V3

Firmware version 3.07

I have been trying to familiarize myself with this and I run into an annoying problem.

I have come in to work to find my ethernet network buried in traffic. The case seems to be the linkstation. The lower LED light was blinking rapidly and the activity lights on the hub it was attached to were doing the same. When I unplugrd the Linkstation from the hub everything returned to normal. This has happened at least three times. This is after using it without a problem the day before.

Any thoughts or fixes will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Gary

We've seen issues like this with a few Linksys and Netgear gigabit switches. What type of switch are you using? Have you tried a different cable?

It's a Dynex 10/100 switch (Best Buy) and I'm using the cable that came with the Linkstation.

The Dynex switch uplinks to a Netgear Prosafe 10/100 Switch.

I have replaced the Dynex switch with a Netgear Model FS105 10/100

Fast Ethernet Switch. I also replaced the Ethernet cable. I still uplink

to the same Netgear Prosafe switch. I hope this works.

The problem is not solved. It ran for a few hours then buried the network again. I unplugged the network cable and the activity stopped. I have to know if this can be fixed. If it can't, I need to return it and find something that will work on my network.

Do I need to call Tech Support or can I find an answer here?

I would try updating the firmware, then resetting it to defaults. If that doesn't work, I'm out of ideas, since at that point it would seem like a hardware problem. Exchange the device or call our support for warranty replacement.
