I recently bought a 640GB DriveStation FlexNet and set it up. The first file, an .ISO file, I tried to put on it was 7.54GB. It wouldnt allow me, and I got the error saying that the file was too large for the destination file system. I then tried to put another file (much smaller, only 10 MB) on it, which worked. Why cant I put this large file on the external hard drive?

I take it your using the drivestation 2share (USB and LAN) this has a FAT32 file format which has a file transfer limitation of 4GB. there is no way to change this on this unit.

If it is just a standard DS (just USB) then format the drive to NTFS and this should solve your issue.

PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.
Having network issues? Drop me an email: info@interwebsireland.com and we will get it fixed!

Hey Mate problem is there with http://www.afterdawn.com/glossary/terms/usb.cfm">USB drive

Genraly usb drives come with a http://www.afterdawn.com/glossary/terms/partition.cfm">partition as FAT32 Not http://www.afterdawn.com/glossary/terms/ntfs.cfm">NTFS.

Fat 32 partition can not copy a file if its bigger than 4GB and may be in vista you are not logged in as admin user so you are getting this problem

so either convert partition as NTFS and its not the case login as administrator user

you can get a compleete solution of this problem http://apdubey.blogspot.com/2009/02/file-is-too-too-large-for-destination.html%3Cbr/%3E">here http://apdubey.blogspot.com/2009/02/file-is-too-too-large-for-destination.html
