The option to update DTCP-IP does not update the media server, it verifies the DTCP-IP key. This key is not used in the USA - only used in Japan. The next versions of the  FW, will update the media server.

FW 1.58 incorporates bug fixes.

So despite everyone making it quite clear what our problem is and the issue in hand you manage to completly avoid answering the question you know we will all want answering. Has the DTCP-IP error been fixed in 1.58?

This is the error we have "While firmware updating, Media Server update can not be updated completely. Please click 'Update DTCP-IP' button after establishing Internet connection"

Looking at the Release note I can see you have fixed this... "Fixed an issue appearing "Media Server update can not be updated completely" warning and error message when configuring Media Server."

If I update to 1.58 will I still have the same error problem... "While firmware updating, Media Server update can not be updated completely. Please click 'Update DTCP-IP' button after establishing Internet connection"

Or do I need to wait for the next version?

Or do we have to test that for you?

So let me get this straight.... all Buffalo did was hide the error warning message?  But the actual error itself still exists??  Please tell me I'm mistaken.

Has anyone with this issue updated to 1.58 and resolved the issue?  I'm going to try this weekend.

migzy

no problems here upgraded and media library is fine on my ls-wxl

TheIntruder

"This is a preventative measure, not a fix."

What a vague statement.  What does that even mean?  What is it preventing?  That we become aware of the error?

TheIntruder

"no problems here upgraded and media library is fine on my ls-wxl"

Just to confirm, you were previously getting an error with 1.56, and you upgraded to 1.58, and now the error is fixed?  Is that right?

wkweksl

Hmm.....also noticed I lost support for flv in the media library. Guess I'll probably turn it off and use samba, ftp or afp instead.

migzy

i was getting the error before, workaround was to disable media server, update and the enable media server again, but as it's says this is only used for japan, so therefore it's not even relevant to me as i'm in uk, as long as media library works then that all i'm worried about

alexhore

My media server streams films already there. If I add a new film I need to go into settings and refresh it every time! And when I do I get the error. The error suggests it's stopping the media server from updating which is why I have to disable update abd re-enable every dam time I wanna watch a new film. If we have a powercut after reboot no films at all show again disable refresh enable. Joke

connect to http://192.168.*.*:9050/ twonky config set the rescan value to -1, it says the server monitors for any new files, so should update straight away

TheIntruder

I'm not even seeing the option to update to 1.58... i'm on 1.56 and it's telling me that that's the latest firmware.  this is for a Linkstation Pro Duo LS-WV2.0TL/R1.

Apparently this error is back. On Linkstation Pro Duo. Have 2 x Linkstation Live's on same firmware (1.60) and they are both fine...

drmemory

If your two LSs on 1.60, are fine - what error are you seeing?
