I'm having this DLNA server refresh issue.  The DLNA client can only see the folders/files that were in the shared folder when I first started the MediaServer.  Any new files/sub-folders I copied into the shared folder aren't showing up in any DLNA client I tried.

I tried "Refresh Now", restart MediaServer, "Erase/Restore", "Initiate", basically any option on the Web configuration GUI.  Frustrated. :( :( :(

Anyone knows how to force a refresh?  Thanks in advance.

BTW, model info

Model: LS-QVL

Firmware: 1.52 (DTCP-IP:1.40-20110204)

DLNA clients: 8player/BuzzPlayer on iPad/iPhone, XMBC on MAC/WIN.

1.52

I refuse to believe I'm the only one with the issue.:smileymad:

Try restoring the unit through the web GUI.

If it is the "Restore/Erase" in the System tab of the web GUI, yes, I did that already.  It didn't help and it took me time to restore all the user/groups .....  :smileymad:

The only other thing I can think of is that you need to reflash the firmware on the unit. What application are you using on the iphone to access the DLNA server?

DLNA clients: 8player/BuzzPlayer/AirPlayer on iPad/iPhone, XMBC on MAC/Win.

Flashing the firmware is the last thing I want to do.....

Ah, I'm sorry I missed that, I missread. Flashing the firmware might just be the fix. Why are you opposed to doing this? It's very easy.

Now I'm desprate.  I force-updated the firmware but the problem still exists.  Any idea what else I can do?

OK, I finally got it solved.  The cause is the Twonky db file corruption (/mnt/yourdisk/.midbeans/twonky.db).  When this db file is corrupted, all official methods that WebGUI provides and even the firmware flashing won't help as they don't touch the db file at all.  If anyone someday experiences the same, simply mv the twonky.db to twonky.db.bak and restart DLNA server, the file will be re-built automatically.

glad to hear you have found a solution. could you please explain how you got to the twonky file as I can't see the directory structure besides that of my own raid setup
