I have posted about this elsewhere but think it probably needs it's own topic.

I have managed to update the device to 1.12. I am running Lion on a Mac and need to get 1.53 firmware installed. Is there no way to do this with the LS-CHL version that I have? When I try to install the update the device cannot be found by the updater.

ESCHER

Latest Firmware is 1.12.

It is not possible to install 1.53, it is for a different hardware.

Jupp

Hi,

same problem here.

Will there be any new FW for the older LS Live with blue interface ?

We sold some LS CHL 55D and my customer are driving me nuts.

Thank you in advance and greetings from Germany

Has my product been abandoned after a few short years?

If your question is has the unit been discontinued then yes it has. I a firmware update for Lion is to be applied for this device then it will be down at the bottom of the developers list.

This means it may take several months to happen or (more than likely) it will not happen at all.

PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.
Having network issues? Drop me an email: info@interwebsireland.com and we will get it fixed!

Have i helped you? Buy me a coffee as a thanks!

When was it discontinued? It doesn't seem that long ago that I bought it and the model is still being sold - simply V2 instead of V1. If the product is not going to be updated at all, as you have stated is likely, then that would be outrageous.

spooky

By the way, my question was not asking if my product has been discontinued - my question was clearly asking if my product has been abandoned.

spooky

I think I have only had this unit for a couple of years - when was the last update for the V1? Is it normal business practice for Buffalo to abandon products so quickly?

Shonk

Yes its normal practice for buffalo to do this

Let me tell you something this is a 10min fix for buffalo to do

If i owned a chlv1 i would fix it myself

spooky

In that case it's the last product I will buy from them.

spooky

Out of curiosity, what was the difference between the V1 and the V2 and why were updates only available for the V2? What were the reasons for my product being abandoned so soon after I purchased it, this not being very long ago?

Jotin

The V2 unit was a new generation. The 2nd to last generation of units were upgraded in hardware and had a newer firmware (red style firmware). Your unit was released almost 3 years ago. But they did release a firmware update for this unit not to long ago (ver 1.12) but it did not upgrade web access or fix the Lion issue.

spooky

Thanks for the information. When did they stop the V1 and start supplying the V2?

Jotin

I do not have an exact date for you but I know it was early 2010.
