hello!
I don't have the option for RAID0, it's incredible because RAID0 should be by default.
I try everything i can try, could you help me ?

Firmware 1.41

Here what I see :

RAID 0 problemhttp://www.cg3d.org/buffalo.jpg">

Thats strange. It must be a firmware issue. I would make sure you are running the latest version. If you are, then I would reflash it. After that go to system then restore and choose restore settings. And this unit comes by default in RAID 5.

gregg3d

Hello Jotin,

my firmware is the lastest one : 1.41

I have restored the default settings and I still not have any RAID0 settings ...

Jotin

And did you reflash it like I said? You can use FAQ 2 of 5 to do this.

gregg3d

I tryed to force updates with firmware 1.41 and 1.40 (old), it's the same.
No RAID0, I'm disappointed....

gregg3d

Plz! CAN somebody help me? I'm trying since 3 weeks and I still can not configure RAID 0 !!!

Plz can you help me?
Moreover I forgot to say that my Linkstation has very slow transfer rates (I hope this is because it's not in raid 0)...

Jotin

Where are you downloading your firmware from? And what happens if you put all 4 drives in the unit?

gregg3d

Thanks Jotin

but I only have 2 hard drives.

I bought this station to use it with 2 HD, not 4 !

Do you think Buffalo will make new firmwares to use RAID 0 with 2 hard drives or I just forget it ?

Look, I putted my 2 hard drive in bay 3 and 4, I rebooted and putted them back to bay 1 and 2.

It activated RAID 0 function but I need to check 4 hard drives to have the button activated.

Here is what I have :

And finally when I click on ''Creat RAID array'', it begin and at 20% it said ''Failed to operate RAID array. Please resubmit after restart''

Jotin

I wasn't sure if that was an issue but it looks like it might be. I havnt heard of this before as I've never tried it. I could try it with one of ours and get back to you on that.

Jotin

So I tested it out and I'm going to have to escelate the issue. I was getting the same thing that you are and that doesn't make sense. I could not create a RAID 0 until I selected all 4 drives. I tried it with 2 and just never got the option.

Moreover the transfer rate is very slow on the Linkstation.

I have a Western digital 2To hard drive 7200rpm 64Mo cache.

When I transfer a big file

- from my Laptop to my workstation : 220 Mb/s

- from my Laptop to the LS-QVL : 40 Mb/s

(without RAID0 of course)

Do you think it's because of firmwares ?

Jotin

40MBps is what you are going to get with this unit. You are going to get between 40-70MBps.

gregg3d

Ok thanks and how can I get 70 MBps ? with RAID0 ?
