Getting "No authority to write to the specified path" message

I've created a share with read write permissions enabled named share1.  I can add and delete files in the top level directory.  So for example, I added the following directory:

/share1/antares/test

However, now when I try to delete the directory "test", I get an error ""No authority to write to the specified path".  If I try to write a file, I get the error "This folder cannot be written to".

How do I enable read/write access to directories other than the top level directory share1?

-Thanks

The "unit" (please specify model) shouldn't set folder level permissions only share level.  Are you sure that logged in as the correct user on this computer?  Try disconnecting from all mapped shares and rebooting your computer.  Also what firmware are you running?
