Can someone help me with this. It seems like the simplest thing to set up and but for some reason it doesnt work. I want to set up my Linkstation Live to sleep at midnight and then wake up at 7am. I am in the West Coast. When I set it to sleep at 00.00 and wake at 07:00, it tells me that my sleep time cant be before the wake time. What am I missing here? I thought 00.00 was midnight and 07:00 was 7:00am? At least time I checked it was?

davo

whats your model and firmware again? I dont wanna go hunting through your posts to find out.

EDIT: if you have a V2 Linkstation then set the sleep time to 24:00 and its wake time to 07:00

PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.

Thanks Davo, problem solved. I had to set the sleep time to 2500, which doesn't really exist on any millitary or standard clock I have ever seen. It actually goes up to 2800. Whis makes no sense, but most things on these units don't anymore.

Hi,

My stuff named :

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Buffalo-LinkStation-MultiMedia-Attached-BitTorrent/dp/B001FNYWFU">Buffalo LinkStation Live 1TB MultiMedia Network Attached Storage

Firmwire 1.33 and with sleeper timer there is absolutely nonsense.

All I need is to give to my storage few hours of relax time at night from 5.30 to 6.30 in the morning -  and as simple as life it is impossible.

drmemory

there are several linkstation live's - please give the model number when asking questions.

boogoo

Dear,

Please check link I have provided for you in my previous post (i hope you will find 'model number' if you don't reorganize it from the full name).

I mean I really don't know full technical name of my one.

Probably LS CH1.0TL V2

drmemory

you haven't specified the steps (in detail) you are doing, for us to examine and try to duplicate.

boogoo

drmemory,

if you have chance to duplicate just try to schedule it to one hour off at night time.

In details:

system - power management  - sleeptimer - modify settings - time interval 'everyday' - wake up '06:00' - begin sleep at  ''05:00' - save - error message that sleep timer is earlier than awake time

I think just with next firmware update you can fix it.

and btw it is necessary to get warning message that all torrent files (not data)  will be deleted after firmware update.

Boogoo, I realize this might be a dumb question but it did happen to me once. Did you check to make sure that the time is correct on your Linkstation. I had that issue one time the time was set up incorrectly. Also, have you tried to set it for more than 1 hr. Maybe it needs more time, I know my shutdowns take about 15 minutes. So maybe there is some kind of programming that doesnt let you set it for only 1 hr.? Just so  you know, I tested on my linkstation and I can't it for 1 hour either, I have it set for 6 hrs at night and that works.

boogoo

Unhappy09,

Buffalo just make stupid system of time sleeper and that;s it.

Probably we using diferent item as you find way how to solve the problem.

drmemory

boogoo - let's not get testy with people trying to help you.

the message indicates that your wake up time may be a day earlier than the sleep time. check the dates on your wake/sleep settings and ensure that both are in the same day. If they are in the same day, like mentioned above - make sure your local time settings aren't moving the setting times to around midnight (which would make the sleeptimer think the wakeup date is before the sleep date.

davo

not possible, the latest you can make it sleep is 3:45am, you could make it wake then at 4:45am if you want and get your precious hour downtime.

drmemory,

I said 'buffalo' as company, nothing personal.

davo,

thanks, this restriction is not exactly what I need, but probably for this moment it is only one way to manage it.
