Linstatio Pro Duo 3 orange flashes?

Hi

I have encountered these problems after about 6mths of using my Linkstation Pro Duo LS-WTGL/R1 running this firmware 1.09. 

i dont run a RAID or anything just as 2 seperated 1TB drives.

i run it straight off a router, normal/simple computer network setup. running windows 7

 

my predicament:

when i booted up my system the number 1 LED flashed red 1-long 6-short.....i narrowed this down from the manual to "Hard drive cannot be recognised" even though i hadnt changed the settings, it ran fine the day before. It was HDD number 1.

I turned it off, then on, it then became recognised on my network, it ran fine for approx 5mins then automaticaly turned itself off.

 

so i then unplugged HDD number 1, turned it on....same situation.

Then turned it off, plugged the first HDD back in...

 

Now i get the Number 1 LED flashing orange, what seems to be, 2-long 1-short or it could be 3-long, not quite sure to be honest.

I can read-write to both HDDs, i have done a Disk Check, everything passed.

 

Im afraid that it might happen again, and i cant find what 3 orange flashes mean anywhere. (the manual isnt very specific)

 

If anyone can shed some light onto my situation it would be great

3 flashes denotes that there is a problem with the hard drive, if the drive removal did not work it sounds like a problem within the RAID

even if i dont run a RAID?

If that is the case, you tried to boot the unit with only drive 1 in, than only drive 2 correct?  If there is still a problem it lies deeper within.
