LS-CH 1.0 and iTunes

I am trying to use my LS-CH as an iTunes server. So far I have created a file called 'media' and enabled the media server. I then copied an iTunes file into the 'media' folder I created.When I open iTunes it shows the sever under shared but there are no files there. Did I save them in the wrong place?

If you can navigate the file system and locate the media then it's an iTunes issue (I would suggest checking your preferences).  If you can't see the files then you haven't copied them over correctly.

There is nothing wrong with the iTunes settings. I have the same problem, as others have reported in other threads on this forum.  I am now reading this could be caused by the recent iTunes 10.  As I upgraded to iTunes 10 just before testing the media server I can't compare if it would have worked in previous iTunes versions.

 

Could a person from Buffalo Tech Support or a mod on this forum investigate the issue and release an official response please?

 

I am running iTunes 10 on Windows 7 32-bit.  The music is stored in a shared folder called "music" on my LinkStation Duo LS-WXL f/w 1.34.

The media server has been enabled through Web Admin and the media server folder has also been set to the "music" folder.

 

The ability to share the music easily across the network via iTunes was a deciding factor in purchasing the LinkStation so I'm disappointed that its not actually possible.  I can understand if the LinkStation may have been compatible with the latest version of iTunes at the time of production but an official response that it has stopped working with the now latest version iTunes 10 would be very helpful and won't continue to mislead others who are thinking of purchasing a LinkStation believing it will work with their current version of iTunes.
