FTP and access restrictions questions

We have a Teratstation HD-H1.0TGL/R5 that we have been using as a NAS for file storage and than as a location for mirror of our back up.   I've recently relocated these functions to other storage and am in the process of repurposing the Terastation as an external facing FTP server.  My goal is to provide individual user names and pass words for the contractors bidding on our projects and let each contractor down load the bid docuements from the specific job folder that they were invited to bid on.   I would give each contractor a unique user name and password that they could use for any job that we want them to bid on.  I've been testing variations on several set ups and have not gotten things working the way that I want yet.   Hoping you can provide answers on a couple of questions.

1) Is it possible to have more than one anonymous FTP shared folder with each having its own set up approved users - i.e. Job1, Job2, Job3, etc?   So far I've been able to get one folder working to log in via FTP but, when I try to add the second folder, neither the original folder nor the one I added work the way I want.

2)  If only one ananymout FTP shared folder is possible, is it possible to have multiple folders within that one folder where each of these folders has a separate group authorized to log onto that subfolder?  For example have a shared folder named FTP that contractors could log into anoymously and then have a folder for each job within the main FTP folder with a unique set of users allow access to each job folder.   I don't see anywhere in the Terastation web panel to set authorizations for folders with the main share folder and am not allowed to set them in Windows explorer.

3)  If what I want is more complicated that the Teratstation can do, does anyone have a suggestion for an application that can do this?

Thanks for any assistance and information.

Sorry,  I forgot to list that the firmware on the Terastation was just upgraded to 2.16.

For what ever it is worth - since I could not figure out how to make the Teratstation do what I wanted, and could not find any documentation saying if it was or was not possible to do what I want, and did not get any replies here, I have abandoned using the Terastation as the FTP server.  I have set up FTPZilla on another server which had a spare drive attached.

Sorry for the delay in the response but the problem you're experiencing is that sub-folders cannot have authentication set to them so in short the setup you're looking for on the TS is not possible. Perhaps on a standard server yes, but the FTP on these devices run pretty much the same if you were accessing them on a local network. Since on a local network the root folders are the only ones that can have restrictions set on them (via the GUI) and not the sub-folders the same rules apply to FTP.

Thanks you for responding with an answer and confirming what I suspected.

You're welcome, my apologies again for the late response.  As I'm sure you can tell we've been pretty busy here.
