HD-HC320U2-US hangs

Hi,

I have been using SyncBack freeware for several months with no problems at all backing up to an HD_HC320U2-US Fat32 USB drive. I have 7 profiles that run one after another on a nightly basis syncing ~130gig.

Out of no where I developed a problem. I logged on one morning and the log file for my 1st profile was open and had the following errors: The semaphore timeout period has expired.

The access light stays solid red, and any attempts to use Windows Exployer to see files on the drive hangs that window too.

My source is an internal IDE harddrive.

OS = Windows XP Pro Sevice Pack 3

A power cycle of my entire system frees everything back to normal.

Does anyone have any ideas what may have caused this to all of a sudden come up?

Thanks,

PK Davis

Possible indication of HDD failure?  That's about all I can glean from that issue.  Weird.
