Greetings,

I picked up a Linkstation Quad today, and this is my third Buffalo NAS product (I own two others). I've had great luck with them, and intend to use the quad for an HTPC setup.

My setup is a Mac Mini, which connects via wireless to my home LAN. I'm trying to use the network card in the Mac to connect to the Quad, directly cabled (no router inbetween). I've set my hardware to 192.168.1.1, and cabled it directly to the network port on the Quad. The front light is no longer blinking and the activity light on both ends of the network cable is lit, however setup can't find the Quad to configure it.

I'm sure I'm missing a step, but I'm not sure what it is. Basically I want to keep the wireless card in my Mac on my local network, and go directly to the LS Quad through the cabled ethernet port.

Thanks in advance!

The quads deault range is 11.xx not 1.x

so you have basically set the MAC outside of the LS range, set the MC to 11.x and you should be fine.

PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.
