I won a Buffalo Ministation HD-PE320U2 in our company Christmas raffle last December 20,2009. I'm using it for 6 months now when I experienced a problem that some of the folders in it cannot be accessed and says that the disk is not formatted. Although some of the folders are still accessible I try to quick format the whole drive and it is successfully done. when i tried to transfer files it stopped at 51Gb and hang i tried to reformat it using dos mode and it stops at 2%. i tried to use checkdisk and it says it has no bad sector. as of now i'm using the disk formatter to do a physical format but after 2 days of waiting it is still not finished. I'm thinking if there's something wrong with it and if I can avail its warranty.

Unless your company can produce the receipt/invoice then you will not be able to avail of the warranty.

first i need to know if there is an initial fix on this issue, i think i have the proof of purchase paper although its written in chinese. i asked the company and they told me that it was just a donated prize so they dont have the receipt...  6768 minutes of formatting and still counting!

AngelsAbys

From the sound of the issue, and the time taken thus far there is no easy initial fix for a problem of this calibur, an RMA would be the path of choice here

About RMA can i return it even without the official receipt from the store? all i have is the complete package including the box and the papers with it. I tried to email the support here in the philippines but after a week there is no response. Do you have some kind of warehouse here in the phillipines where i can return it?

tanjl

if I'm not wrong, Philippines support shld be Msi-ecs...probably you shld call them...your ministation needs to be replaced as I have 2 of these and had the same problems..after replacement its all good...

i just came from there, they ask me for the receipt of the unit from the store. Weird thing is I emailed their support personnel that i just won this item therefore I dont have the receipt and told me to bring it there but when i came there they told me that they cant RMA it. Then, the person told me he will check if the unit came from them, after a few minutes he came back and told me that it didn't came from the philippines. I'm wondering where did this unit came from that they cant RMA it.

tanjl

Sigh...looks like you are stuck with a faulty Buffalo ministation....it seems they truly need the receipt for warranty claims...another way is to bring it to the top by talking to the person in charge of Buffalo Philippines and I'm sure something could come up.

justify

LoL, i had emailed the person in charge and she got a different suggestion from the person i talked to, as of now i'm trying to work the drive but after 13gb of file i am encountering a cyclic redundancy error i tried doing partition and i can put more files but still cant use the full 320 gig...

tanjl

I had the same problem on my HD-PXU2 ministation and brought it back to my local Buffalo service centre for replacement asap. I just couldn't copy more than 80gb of files. Came out with same error MSG as yours.

justify

the only difference is they don't want to RMA my item hehehe, wondering why do they need the receipt from the store? and wondering why they know that my item is not from the philippines but they dont know where does it came from...

tanjl

They should know because its based on the serial numbers on the unit...

justify

oh well, problem still persist all i can do is to make it a keychain ^_^ thanks for the help ^_^
