It says I have a firewall -- but I don't. Installation fails anyway

I have a brand-new LS-XH1.0TL. Firmware version 1.24.

Computer system: Windows XP SP2.

Problem: I have the LinkStation connected to the router on my home network. There are two laptops on the network, both normal newish Dells running XP. I ran the Link Navigator setup disk (version 1.3.0) on both laptops. On one laptop, everything worked just as it was supposed to.

On the other laptop, the setup program insisted that there was a firewall present, even after the Windows firewall had been turned off. I have repeatedly tried just blowing through that message and ignoring it, but the setup program then fails to find the LinkStation. However, I can see the LinkStation just fine using its IP address, can map it to a drive letter and can transfer files fine. I just can't get NasNavi to install -- which means the computer can't wake up the LinkStation, etc. and quite a lot of functionality is not available.

There is no firewall on the computer aside from the Windows firewall which I disabled. Once, a couple years ago, ZoneAlarm was installed but it is long gone and completely deinstalled.

Any suggestions about what I can do to get NasNavi to install properly and see the drive?

A suggestion is to try and download NAS Navi from the website, it does not require a serial number to download v2.24 and may help you in you current situation
