Hello,

I have a linkstation mini (duo - LS-WXL). We have a USB drive connected for backup. To dismount the USB backup drive I press the button on the back. However, I've noticed the NAS becomes unavailable for a period of about 5-10 seconds while this process takes place.

Our situation is that we run a backup to the USB drive over night. Then we change over the USB disk during the day. It seems fairly crude that all existing connections to the NAS are cut on ejecting the USB disk. The users are not best pleased as they might have documents open.

Why does it have to be like this? Is this normal? Why isn't there an option to automatically eject the USB disk after the backup is complete?

Many thanks,

Henry
