LSCHL firmware corruption

Hi there

I have a NAS that was working well till now. Yesterday the front light become flashing red. In the manual sais that is a firmware corruption.

I'v tried to make a TFTP boot that went successfull. (it says: uImage.buffalo 4133 Block Served and initrd.buffalo 13779 Block Served).

(I used the files uImage.buffalo and initrd.img that came with v1.07 of the firmware and rename initrd.img to initrd.buffalo).

 

The problem is that at this point the NAS should be found with the LSUpdater from firmware v 1.07 but it don't... the message "LS-CHL that needs updating wasn't found".

 

What could be wrong???

In the first place, let me thank you for your reply.

 

I've tried the procedure to do the force update but the problem persists. The updater still can´t find the NAS.

 

Should this procedure be done with the TFTP Boot.exe still running?

 

I'm using the BUFFALO LS-CHL Updater V.1.07. and after doing the step 10 of the FAQ, the Update button is still gray.

At this point the front led is still flashing blue .

Do you have any firewall programs or anti-virus programs running in the background?  These can sometimes interfere with the updater.

 

Also, you can not have Nas Navigator running at the same time (even in the background) as the updater, as they use the same process.

 

Another suggestion is to reboot your computer into Safe Mode with Networking, by pressing the F8 key after your PC's POST messages, then selecting "Safe Mode with Networking" from the list of boot options.
