My Linkstation Quad(LS-QL1.0TL) box doesn't boot up after an accidental power-off.

When I turn the power on it ends up with red LED flashing 6 times.

LED for hard drives are all still green.

It does'nt show up on NasNavigator.

I want to try firmware update.

Is there any way that I can boot this unit up in EM mode?

I mean, except for the TFTP process.

There are some instructions for EM-mode booting for other models but I can't find one for this model.

Jason

To boot into em mode for that series use these instructions:

NOTE: The FUNCTION button for the LS-CHL and LS-XHL series is  located on the front of the NAS whereas the LS-WTGL has the FUNC button  on the back.

  1. Make sure that your NAS is powered off
  2. Hold down the FUNC/FUNCTION button for at least 6 seconds before  powering the NAS on
  3. While continuing to hold down the FUNC/FUNCTION button power the  NAS on

At this point it varies for these units so please read  carefully:

    • LS-CHL and LS-XHL: The FUNCTION button will start  blinking at which point you release the button and hold it down for an  additional 10 seconds or until the FUNCTION button goes solid. At this  point you may release the FUNCTION button
    • LS-WTGL: The POWER light on the front of the unit  will begin blinking blue rapidly at which point you may release the FUNC  button. The POWER light should turn green in approximately 60 seconds

For the tftp procedure, use http://forums.buffalotech.com/t5/Storage/FAQ-3-of-4-TFTP-boot-procedure-please-read-this/td-p/11015" target="_self" rel="nofollow">this

Thank you for your reply, Jason.

I could manage to boot it into EM mode, I tried firmware update and it seemed ok until it failed at last.

Now I lost the unit from NAS Navigator and the Power LED is showing like this;

pink(long) - blue(short) - pink(long) - blue(short) - pink(short) - blue(long)

HDDs LEDs are all solid green. No sound of HDD read/write.

Does it look like a disk check or a array rebuilding?
