This 2.11 update works just fine with my LSL!!

Thanks Paul, and everyone else who has been working on this firmware upgrade.

I will recommend Buffalo products to others again.

For everyone who had success in updating to 2.11, any tips?  My attempt turned my Linkstation into a brick...

say170

edd, check out http://forum.buffalo.nas-central.org/viewforum.php?f=39  there are lots of tips there if you think you've bricked your LSL.

When is this fix coming to Linkstation Mini? Because LS Mini <-> Playstation 3 has same problem - no files can be seen in PS3.

ups

I guess this patch still does not address issue with TerraStation Live?

Latest firmware for this device on BUffalo's site is:

Version:  214_102

Release date: 2008-01-10

I have model number: Model  HS-DHTGL/R5 1.10

Hi Paul ./ Buffalo,

I have the LS Live with Bit Torrent and had the problem of constant DLNA #2101 errors every 5 seconds or so on the PS3 - it listed the files on the drive wirelessly fine, but kept disconnecting.

I am happy to report that the new firmware update has completely fixed the problem - and it is now working with my PS3 100%.

Thanks for putting to much time and effort into supporting your userbase and listening to us.

Richard

We are working on all the units as fast as we can, here is a link for the mini

I have a Linkstation Live (HS-DGL500, FW 2.10), a Linkstation Pro Duo (LS-W2.0TGL/R1-V3, FW 3.07) and a Linkstation Live with Bit Torrent (LS-CH1.0TL, FW 1.02). I am using (among some other equipment) Sonos for music, Tvix 6500 for movies, Sony KDL-46Z4500 (TV) for photos, among all.

I have been trying to use Sony for music and videos and Kiss DP-600 media player for pics, music and videos but the results have been very unstable. Still, they should work. I might add a PS3 one of these days, too.

Through the link above I can see that all above mentioned equipment have recently updated FW´s. However, these are not at Buffalo´s European site.

So my question is, should I install them of wait until they appear in the European site. With my LS Live I had huge problems when I went for a US FW version without knowing it did not work for me.

Also, the LS Pro Duo download page explains something strange about the latest FW: "Firmware will only work on units with 3.XX firmware". Or it means exactly what it says, if you have now 3.xx fw, you can update to 3.08.

2.11 has not made a difference to my set-up and now like SimoPP I am wondering whether my location within Europe means that I should not have used the US Firmware update. My Linkstation Live worked well for about a month with my PS3 then stopped showing the contents of the Buffalo showing numerous DLNA Errors. I was of the opinion the problem was down to a rather poor router that was provided free by my provider. This Christmas I treated myself to a nice new N1 Vision. Suffice to say STILL the same problems. Does anyone know if the 2.11 Firmware should NOT be used in the UK?

say170

Wayne, I'm in the UK and using 2.11.  DLNA now works for me within the limitations of insufficient breakout of MP3 information (eg no Album Artist), reverse alphabetical lists.  It could be due to your directory structure...   but, saying that I don't believe this fix - or the pcast software is working right...

My structure is:

\\Nas\MP3s\Genre_A\Artist\Album

\\Nas\MP3s\Genre_B\Artist\Album

\\Nas\MP3s\Genre_C\Artist\Album

\\Nas\MP3s\Genre_D\Artist\Album

\\Nas\MP3s\Genre_E\Artist\Album

\\Nas\MP3s\Genre_F\Artist\Album

On my DLNA device, I only see the contents of Genre_A and Genre_F folders.

The same structure works fine with Twonky, so something is definitely broken.

Wayne_S

Thanks for the reply Say170.

I have Read about the directory structure problem. Mine is \\Linkstation\Media\Music. This is AFTER the built in PS3 folders of \\Music\folder.

My father in law has the same set up but with the older model N1 router and his setup runs smoothly. This is why I bought a similar router, but still the problems.

He has suggested it could be the encryption as he ony uses Wep, whereas I use WPA/PSK. My give this a try.

I too installed the F/W upgrade on my LS Live and so far seems to working fine!

Thanks!

Hi everybody, could any of you clarify whether there are any restrictions or rules of how to configure the directory structure in Buffalo NAS when used with PS3. It seems that some people have touched this subject but I can not find a comprehensive description.

and Any hope of firmware fix for Linkstation Pro Duo 1TB?

braddersmd

I've just taken delivery of both a Terastation Live 4TB, and a Linktheatre HD Nfiniti. The Linktheatre is for the office, and I use a PS3 in the living room. OK, any ideas when the updated drivers will be available for the Terastation, to allow use of the PS3?

Further, I can access the media on my PC from the PS3, by running the media server software that came with the Linktheatre - but cannot seem to get directory structures to display in alphabetical order - can someone point me in the right direction for that also?

Thanks, Mark

I have contacted the company I purchased my HSDHGL from and asked how I get a complete refund.  I am not happy with the poor DLNA implementation (for reasons I mentioned in previous posts) and lack of configurability.  I should not have to spend an additional $30/€20 on an additional piece of software (ie Twonky), and then have to hack my LS (open up telnet/install wget) to get it working.  Out of the box it 'should' have worked, but even with this fix, it doesn't properly.
