TeraStation III web admin password not accepted

It's been a while since I've been in web admin, but I know the password as much as I know my own name (no, that's not it)...but the TeraStation III refuses to accept it.  We have a lot of data on it and I don't want to have to move the data off and start from scratch and I spent a long time to get it to work properly.  Number one, I will say that this thing is a piece of junk.  Number two, I see lots of users of the other Buffalo storage devices having the exact same problem with the web admin password not being accepted.  Is there ANY way to reset this without losing the data and all my settings (users and passwords, primarily)?

Is there anyway to upgrade the firmware to fix this WITHOUT entering the admin password that I know, but the worthless piece of garbage won't accept???

SOLUTION - RESET RETURNS PASSWORD TO FACTORY AND DOES NOTHING BAD EXCEPT RETURNS TO AUTO DHCP.  ALL I HAD TO DO WAS TURN IT OFF AND INSERT THE STATIC IP...BUT I'M CROSSING MY FINGERS ABOUT EVERYTHING ELSE.

Now, WHY can't that be plainly offered in the manual???
