Firmware: 1.24

Model: LS-WX2.0TL/R1

Have tried deleting and recreating raid array with both disks as raid1 array but evertime it gets to 20% n the progress indicator and I get the flashing red error button and it drops the session and fails.  The Nas gui tells me it's failed but no reason why or remedy.  Normal mode and raid0 fine.

Tried all combinations of resetting via both function button and ui but no joy.

A kind of hope this would take 10 minutes to setup but nope.  Any help appreciated.

BTW - have seen this thread with the same issue (different firmware)....

http://forums.buffalotech.com/t5/Storage/Can-t-set-up-RAID-1-in-my-Linkstation-Duo/m-p/26682#M21127">http://forums.buffalotech.com/t5/Storage/Can-t-set-up-RAID-1-in-my-Linkstation-Duo/m-p/26682#M21127

....indicating it's solved but I don't see a solution in it.  Thanks again.

See if this helps: First, make sure you are updated to the latest firmware, then try formatting both drives in xfs, and finally try building your array.

Let me know if this works for you.

Thanks for responding.  Any idea where I can get a firmware update executable? It doesn't appear to be on the install disk and the model mumber doesn't match any of the options on the buffalo support downloads section.

You should be able to go to buffalotech.com/support/downloads

From there in the first drop down box select the LinkStation™ Duo - LS-WXL/R1

Select the 1.26 firmware.

Just to close this thread down.  About a week after posting this thread a new firmware popped up 1.26 but still with a different model number to the one on my box which I installed and then reformatted the disks and it worked fine.

I think I got in this loop becuase I powered off the nas dirty with the mains swith rather than the smaller fiddly switch on the back.  I think caused the problem and the only way out was the new firmware.  Shame it wasn't available when I first bought the device.  Anyway...sorted now.

Thanks for responses.
