questions about the ls-chl - web access questions

I have the Linkstation Live - LS-CHL

it is a great device and having a ball with it.

Right now, playing around with the settings.

 

I have a few questions:

 

1. I enabled web access to a folder and set it as anonymous.  When I access inside or outside my network, it prompts for a username/password.  My admin does not work, but only one of the users does.  Why is that?

also, if it is anonymous, shouldn't it go right into the share?

 

2. How can I set one of my domains at godaddy to point to the NAS over the network, I guess I can do a forward?

to http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:port">http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:port of my NAs?

 

3. In shared folders, then Shared folder support. what is the Disk Backup?

1. Please check that your popup to login for NAS or Router. If login to router check Port forwarding.

2. Yes, you can set on Web Access menu check disable on Use BuffaloNAS.com and enter you host name into DNS Hostname, externel port 9000.

3. Backup: allows the share to be used as backup destination by LinkStations.

     If you do not check the Disk Backup. You will not see this Folder on Disk Backup menu.

for 1, my other users can get in, but not the admin account?

Are you using the default username and password? admin/password?

yes, which I changed to something else. 

It works when I enter in my local ip of 192.168.1.xxx

but not from the web.

 

maybe we cant admin from the web?

I have 9000 port frwarded to the above IP.

the other users I created on the nas can get in etc.

maybe it is because my port 80 is blocked by my ISP?
