Login via NAS Navigator vs assigned ip address

I have been very pleased with my LS710DFC2 NAS, but lately I am only able to login as admin by way of the DHCP assigned ip address. When I try to login as admin using the NAS Navigator app (using the same p/w), I my password is never accepted, returning me constantly to the login. What can I do to fix this?
