Hi,

I have a LinkStation - LS-XHL(LS-XHL) running on firmware 1.24.

I have a folder with no restriction which I use and a standard share on my home network.

But now - all of a sudden - my PC wont reconnect at startup. I now need to give username and password.

Can anyone explanin why that is?

I am sure it was not like this before.

TIA

Try creating a new folder through the web gui and see if you have the same issues.

This does not help.

I can not access anything on the Linkstation without entering username and password...?

This also meand I can not see any files using buffalonas.com/xxxxx which did also work earlier.

However if I do logon with username and passoword I can no see all folders on the Linkstation.

I have tried to reset to factory defaults, but with same results.

The only thing I can think off is that the "File security tool" installation failed ("could not obtain from registry"), but I guess this should not affect this problem?

I really hope someone can help, as this is driving me nuts

Do you have access restrictions set on any of your other shares?  If so try remapping them.  Also how did you map the shares (ie.  run command \\IP or \\Name, netowrk places, NASNAVI?)
