Hey there - i have 5 macs all running OSX either 10.5 on on the G5's and 10.6 on the Intels....  I have had the Linkstation for 3 months and no issues.  Love it.  Suddenly, my share drive doesn't come up in Itunes on any computer.  Since its not coming up in any itunes app on the desktops or laptop, it has to be the Linkstation settings.  I restarted the media server a billion times, and even recently tried to create a new shared drive - put a couple tracks of tunes on there - and then set up the media server to link to that - still no luck.  Why is this not coming up in Itunes anymore?  It was working like a charm....  Is there something that I'm potentially missing?  Everything is enabled.  The one thing that is weird however - and I think that it was always like this - is the 'Authorized DLNA Media Clients' area - its always greyed out and I can't click the allow access box.  I can however refresh client list - and nothing comes up.  I actually think that this was like this before though when it was working, so don't think that it's the culprit - but figured that I'd mention it.  Thanks!

I would try resetting the unit to factory defaults. It will not delete your data, but it will restore the unit's interface options to when you first purchased the unit. Go to maintenance, then initialization and select restore to factory defaults. After this if the unit has a static ip address it will assume a dhcp address. Use the nas navigator to find the unit again and access it to configure it again. If this does not help with your media server issues after setting the unit back up, try updating the firmware. If your firmware is already up to date, try flashing the firmware with the current version which is called a force flash. Procedures for that are listed in the FAQ's.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the response - how do I update the firmware?

Jotin

Go to http://www.buffalotech.com/support/downloads" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.buffalotech.com/support/downloads and select your unit. Then you will download the latest firmware, extract it and run the executable which is labeled either TS or LS updater.exe Run through this instillation and it should flash the firmware.

Thanks!  and the mystery continues.  I tried to start a new share tonight, and it opened in itunes.  Weird.  Do you suppose that this could mean that I have corrupt media on my music share?  I removed a bunch of new files and no luck.  Does it take a while to mount?  I have about 80 gigs in it...  Please send thoughts.  Thanks!
