Help! 'Jerky' Movie streaming from LS-CHL0F4 to PS3

Hi Everyone

Recently bought a LS-CHL0F4 (1TB), firmware 1.10.  Its plugged into my BT homehub router (v1.5 in this link - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BT_Home_Hub" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BT_Home_Hub)

 

I successfully got the PS3 to recognise it and can stream movies stored on my LS to the PS3 however they are often very jerky.  Every few minutes it will freeze and you'll hear the audio, then the video will catch up.  A few more minutes later it will happen again.

 

Can anyone help me out here?  If it helps, the BT router is in a small room upstairs and the PS3 is downstairs.

Also - do I have the latest firmware?

I've since been doing some research and BT have suggested I manually change the 'channel' on the BT Home Hub, which doesnt really help.

 

The other thing I have found out is that apparently the PS3 isn't great at receiving streaming media!

 

I have also tried streaming from my laptop to the PS3 using TVersity and it seems to work a bit better (only slightly though) - which does seem to suggest the NAS could be "tweaked" in some way?

 

Any suggestions?

 

Also - how do I check whether my firmware on my NAS is up to date?

Koolade, please post questions in the proper area (storage).  I would suggest updating the firmware on your linkstation and refreshing the database.  That said I have the same issue with certain movies with my mediaserver (twonky, but not a chl) and my PS3.  I doubt that tweaking the NAS in anyway would help as I am running the latest version of twonky at home (with a home built server) with the same issues.  There may be something that you could do with the twonky software but that is definately not supported nor is it allowed to be posted on this board.
