It took many tries to join our new Buffalo TeraStation III NAS to our domain/active directory and then it was inconsistent (off and on, on and off), making both Web Access and FTP impossible to test and roll out successfully. Finally, Buffalo support had me initialize the unit and, now, the exact same settings that were eventually accepted to join the domain/active directory will not work at all.

Has anyone had success? Has anyone else had this problem? Has anyone had this problem and found the magic cure? Buffalo's only answer is to swap our brand new NAS for a refurb and I think that just plain sucks...

Thanks for any help you may provide.

PS. It will work okay if I enter all the users and groups manually...and then manually change passwords every 90 days to comply with SOX (speaking of things that suck - thanks Enron).

Most likely, the issue you're having connecting to active directory is due to a time mismatch. Make sure the time zone is set correctly, then apply it, then set the time itself.
