LinkStation 1TB setup

I am trying to set up Linkstation for the 1st time on my Desktop " XP SP2" but it says that my firewall is running. i turned off windows firewall and uninstalled the Antivirus "AVG" as well and still it says that its unable to setup unless i turn off the firewall.

have you run the nas navigator?  Was it able to find the ip address?  If not try starting you computer up in safe mode with networking.  If you can find the ip address of the buffalo then you can go to start and then run and put in \\ipof buffalo ex \\192.168.1.105 .  Press enter, then right click on share and map network drive.  If you have any other computers on the network you can try running nas navigator on it to see if you can find the device.
