LinkStation Quad NAS: shortest power cycle

I'm working on a linux configuration to user the "auto" power mode.

 

While testing it, I sent  a single wake-on-lan packet many times to start-up the nas: it power up and  it goes back in "sleep" as soon as possible.

 

After many cycles like this, I got and array corruption.

 

The configuration I'm working on is different from the NasNavigator's Windows approach because it is a sort of "on-demand" use: while you need it, it is powered on; if you don't need it, or you are not using it, after a predefined timeout, it can go back to sleep mode.

 

Now, I think I am near to complete the configuration, but I would like to know which is a safer timing for power cicle.
