Well I must be crazy because even with the issue I have with the Linkstation dual 1TB (other posts) I bought1 3rd one. I did so to copy the stuff from the slowed down LS to the new one. This is a new 1TB LS and I've attached a new 2TB MyBook additional USB drive to it. The LS SHARE mapping is working fine but the USBDISK1 is not working very well. I have formatted USBDISK1 into XFS and tried to create 2 directories on it called (Part01) and (Part02). After I created them (Part01) disappeared, if I tried to created it again it failed with a drive is full message. Now anything I do with the USBDISK1 drive I get an I/O error message. Thwe SHAREis still working. Now I have a LS that is running at 200KByte a second for transfer and a 2nd LS that will not recognize the USB drive attached to it. I'm reformattting the USBDISK1 but I'm lossing faith in this product. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you

Please post the firmware versions you have on all your units and the model number and what kinda of backup are you setting up?  Please post only one time for the same thread.

Sorry about the duplicate posts, elevator syndrome (Pushing post too many times)

Under NAS Navigator the newest unit is Firmware 3.09.   The connected USB drive to it is a Western Digital, MyBook.  After 3 reformats it still hows as a (Total capicity) of Not available.

I have copied about 200+GB of filles to the USBDISK1 drive  and now I can't see any of the files.

Copying file from the failing LS unit to the new one is now failing on the new unit.

Not impressed so far.  Have rebooted everything and the USBDISK1 on the new LS unit is useless.

No backups just plain files copies are involved here.

It is a 1TB LinkStation just purchased from Amazon last week.

Please do more than the standard tech support ofgive me a  firmware and model numbers requests?

I have 3 of these things(LS's) and right now only one of them works worth a **bleep**.

I could just **bleep**-can the works and go with something else but I have a feeling that Buffalo is a good item.

Can I use a 2TB USB drive on a LS 1 TB Buffalo unit?
