Browser language problem

I have replaced the drives on my Terastation Pro II Rackmount TS-RHTGL with Seagate ST3500418AS (had lost two of the original Spinpoint drives and the user was unhappy with the reliability).

 

I have used the tftp to reload the EM O/S and TSUpdate to reload the firmware. When I attempt to run the Web GUI to configure the drives it displays in Japanese. Knowledgebase articles  talk me through menus on the left side to change the language to english however I have no menus displayed to work through.

 

Another KB article then suggests to re-apply the firmware using the /force option however TSUpdater fails to respond to this insisting that the firmware is the same as is current and won't proceed. I have tried modifying the [Flag] line VersionCheck = 1 to = 0 but it still checks and refuses to update.

 

Can you advise how to switch the language, force a re-installation of the firmware and which firmware I should have? If you log into the unit as the admin account there should be tabs on the left hand side. 

 

 

Try following these steps to change the device back to English:

1. Connect to the web configuration utility by entering the TeraStation's IP address in a web browser.
2. In the column of blue items on the left hand side, select the second link.
3. Under the first header are two text fields; enter or modify the text in the second.
4. Under the third header, the first entry is a radio selection with two options; select the one on the right.
5. Under the fourth header (with two menu/pulldown boxes beneath it), set both menu boxes to the second entry in the list (the second menu box should say cp437).
