I have a 1tb mini and Vista. I keep all my pictures on it to make space on my laptop. When I open a folder containing pictures it doesnt populate the window with preview images. Even when I try change the size in the view tab I still end up with the generic windows images. When I click on one of the images I can see a preview and image details on the very bottow of the window but the file icon does not change. Is there a way to have the icon be the image preview? If not this it is rather pointless.

Thanks for the help.

s anyone know how I can fix this? It is a case of turning on some setting?

In the explorer window if you click on "view" it should give you an option to choose how you want to view the files.

I had actually tied that and it wan't working but now it appears to be fine. I think there is a bigger problem as I am now having trouble in backing up across the network.

Thank you for the reply!

When I open a folder that contains images, they are all JPEG, the folder is full of the generic image icon that represents each file as a picture (The one that looks like a mountain range near a lake). If the default View is something that should show the icons as small versions of the actual picture sometimes a few preview image icons appear, the rest are the generic image icon. When I click the 'View' button to change to a View that changes the icon to a different size preview of the image they all load but for some reason they change back to the default image icon. If I click View again to change to the next size Icon they load again and once loaded again they change back to the vista default image icon.

So for me to look at my images I need to open one go through them one at a time. If I want to look at many I have to copy them to my laptop and open the folder there.

I hope I explained that OK.
