Hi,

I've bought on ebay a Buffalo LinkStation LS-C500L 3 weeks ago and I wanna change the HD which is too small for my usage!

I have bought a WD CaviarGreen 1.5To but it doesn't seems to work!

I explain : I open the NAS and put the new HD.

When I reboot the NAS, I've got a red LED (which is a normal boot as I don't have any FW on the HD).

After pressing the Function button, I don't get a blue LED (as I should have)  but I can use TFTP Boot Recovery (which indicate that it has worked)

I only have a blue LED after using TFTP Boot recovery.

Then I start Buffalo LS-CL Updater Ver 1.07 in debug mode, try to change some options but no way...i still get an error message during formatting : Failed to formatting. (ACP_STATE_FAILURE) Updating is aborted.

I try on a Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows Seven PC...same problem! I've got the same issue on my MacBook Pro....

I even try to Update the NAS in Windows Safe Mode with network....

Does someone has already have make it works with this Western Digital CaviarGreen HardDrive? Do I need to buy another HardDrive?

I don't know what to do to make it works! I even made a low format on the HD (it takes about 9 hours...)

Sorry for my poor english level but I'm French ^^

Thx in advance,

Rgds

Hi, Thanks for your answer. I already try  the Force Firmware Procedure with the box check for rebuild partition table after a TFTP methode but without success. I don't know what to do with this hard drive. I will try this afternoon to get another HardDrive (a Samsung EcoGreen 1To) to test.

Well, I try with a Samsung EcoGreen 1To and it works perfectly!

I think the problem is my Western Digital CaviarGreen 1.5To is not compatible....:smileysad:

Do you know if someone had successfully make it work  with this HardDrive?
