Link Mini and snow leopard sharing inconsistencies

Let me apologize up front if this has been addressed already.  I've searched the forums a few hours and found nothing like what I am experiencing.

 

I am on a Mac with 10.6.2 OS X.  I am using the linkstation mini as a storage place for ripped movies, and music for my Sonos system, and have DLNA turned on for a Samsung TV I have.

I have the ripped DVDs on my Mac internal drive:  Movie name -->VIDEO_TS-->various IFO,VOB etc files.

 

My Mac logs into the Linkstation via guest, and I drag and drop my DVD rips onto the linkstation.

 

I have another user (Test1) set up on the linkstation with a password.  When I logon as Test1, I can browse through the movie folders, but some of them are missing.  The main movie directory is there, and MAYBE the VIDEO_TS folder, but the files are not there.  I log back in as guest, and all are back.  This only happpens on some of the movies, not all, and it seems to be sporadic as to which movie files won't show up.  I have erased, reformatted the linkstation, and recopied the movie directories/files, and now different movie files disappear.  It doesn't seem to be common to any specific movie, kind of random.

 

Access restrictions are disabled on the share.

 

I have tried using AFP and the result seems the same.  When I log out as Test1, and log back in as guest, the files are there.

 

It may well be something I am doing wrong as I am new to linkstation, and Mac as well.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
