CAN FILES ON DRIVES REMOVED FROM A WORK STATION BE READ ON STAND ALONE DRIVES?

Basic question is whether I can read a drive removed from my LS-WXL93E and access the files it contains if installed as a regular HD elsewhere.

Recent system crash of my old WIN 7 desktop has rendered my old Buffalo LS-WXL93E only barely accessible.  For reasons discussed elsewhere on the Buffalo website, my Win 10 laptop has gradually  lost its ability to access the linked drive over the last year.  Fortuitously, the  desktop WIN 7 operating system (only thing on boot drive now) is still able to see and copy (but not actually use) all the files on the link station.  I seem to be able to see and actually copy files off the link station, but given the number of files it would be an agonizing process at best.

Allows me to copy files as files onto an extra drive on the desktop for later access, but only one at a time.

Question is whether I would be able to remove one of the drives from the link station and install it in a working computer or into an external drive and thereby retrieve all the files much more quickly and with far less effort.  Or do the drives on the LS have some weird non standard formatting rendering them basically unreadable outside of an LS.

Simply as a postscript to the above, my Win 10 laptop can see the LS-WXL93E, but its contents.  Only msg is to install a share folder somewhere; presumably on my laptop since I can't see anything on the LS.

The data will be stored on an MDADM software raid array in an XFS filesystem. If you connect the drives to a linux system you can read them.
