Could someone please help me out with this, all I need to know is, is there a protocol, port, or special configuration setting I need to make in order for the TS to work on a Linksys WRTP54G router?

when I fist turn the TS on it grabs and IP from DHCP but then it drops it and reverts back to the TS default IP. I know this because I have cleared the DHCP client list prior to reboot and claimed that IP on another device. After rebooting the TS it grabs the next available IP and then drops it again.

When I try to connect to the TS with the Navigator software it can't find the drive, I can't ping the default IP. If I change the router IP range to the same range as the TS default I still can't see the TS or ping it.

I know its at router issue, I just don't know were to look.

There isnt a special setting or any ports that need forwarded to use this device.  I would make sure there is a link light on the router where the TS plugs in.  Are you getting any error/info lights?  If not then the nasnavi should find it as long as you don't have protective software preventing it.

It sounds to me like it is booting into em mode but to confirm this we will need to find it with the NASNAVI.

It seems that I have a solid link to the router, I've tried the TS with the same cable to a different router and it works fine. I've also plused a PC into the same port on the first router and it works fine. I've turned off all firewalles and still can't see the TS with NASNAVI.

I would think if the TS was booting up in EM mode it would happen regardsless of the router I plug into.

I'm only having this problem on this one router.

I was not able to solve the problem with my current router, so in lieu of buying a new router and possibly introducing a problem to my phone system. I opted to buy a 1 gig switch, I hung the switch off the router and put all my networked devices on the switch and all the wireless devices still go through the router. I didn't feel is would be much of an issued because the wireless devices are only 54mb anyway.

So if you have a linksys WRTP54G router from Vonage it looks like the best solution is to buy a small 5 or 8 port switch.
