HS-DH320GL transferring files ?

How do you transfer files on the HS-DH320GL internal hardrive to an external NTFS USB hardrive ?

One way is to simply drag and drop from the share folder to the USB disk.  Just go to your run command (windows key + R), type in '\\IP' (IP being the IP of the NAS).  You should see you share and the USB disk there.

That would take ages too transfer 100Gb via network send.

 

Isn't there a faster way of connecting an external drive to the linkstation USB socket ?

What about if the External drive is formatted too Ext 2 / 3 can it then be plugged into the linkstation for direct transfer ?

Yes, just set a backup job with the source as the LS and the destination as the USB HDD.  This is the only other option as this unit doesnt have a function button.
