Hello,

I just purchased a Buffalo Linkstation Quad (8tb) and I cannot get it to connect to the network. I am running Windows XP and can verify that the firewall is not active on my computer. The blue light is solid on the front of the linkstation and the green light is blinking on the back confirming that it is plugged in through the ethernet through a switch. I have firmware 1.10 installed. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Clay

Does it show up in the NASNAVI?  If the light is solid and you're getting no red lights then it's booting.  Barring a bad NIC on the device/computer or a bad cable, it would have to be protective software preventing the NASNAVI from finding it.

When I plug in the NAS directly into my computer through the ethernet cord NASNAVI finds it (it does not through the wireless network). Is there anything that needs to be enabled for getting a network connection wirelessly on Windows XP?

Thanks,

Chad

No, there shouldn't be anything in particular.  Maybe try changing the wireless channel on the router.. What kind of router is it?

Boot your computer into Safe Mode with networking.  If there is anything running in the back ground then that should shut it down.  You can try to reflash the firmware and reinitilize the unit through the Web Admin.
