Hi,

I'm trying to transfer files from the harddrive on my macbook leopard intel core duo to my flexnet and usually halfway into the process the transfer fails.

I'm using smb:// protocol and I have no idea what's going on...

the Felexnet I'm using over LAN and did firmware update last night

some ideas?

Thank you,

DumbTechDude

It fails because this Flexnet drive needs to be in FAT 32 mode in order to use the LAN function.  However since MAC OSX supports extended file names under extended journaled format, for which the FAT 32 format do not support.  Besides, the limitation of FAT 32 4Gb file size for each file therefore stops file copy half way.  The Flexnet, however, works perfectly with Windows XP on a real PC or on my Mac running XP through bootcamp.

If you want to use a networked drive with a Mac, I recommend their Linkstation model as they have a gigabit LAN port as opposed to 100mbit for the Flexnet.
