Hi,

We have a Terastation here, an HD-HTGL/R5 at firmware version 2.16 and I have a few questions.

1- I've read messages here where people have posted their log files from a terastation, how can I access the syslog ?

2- We use the built in "disk backup" utility to backup the device to an external USB disk. At times the backup works, at times it fails, any ideas?

3- Anyway to telnet in and see what's going on WITHOUT uploading hacked and/or unsupported firmware?

Thanks in advance...

If you are formatting the usb drive to xfs through the device and the backup job keeps failing test the usb drive make sure it's good.  The usb drive also needs to be under 1.5tb and have it's own power supply, not just from the usb port as that doesn't have enough to solely power a usb hard drive.
