I have a DriveStation Duo (HD-W500IU2/R1-US) that has just started a continuous beep (more of a whine, really...)  The KB document indicates that this is from an overtemperature situation with a drive.  However, even if the drive is completely cool (off for hours) the alarm starts within seconds of power-on.  The drive also feels completely cool when the alarm is going.  I thus suspect a faulty sensor.  Is there anything that can be done, short of buying a new one and transferring all the data off (the drive appears to be working OK).

It does have a 1 year warranty you can call in to us and we can setup a replacement if you have a valid receipt or invoice.  I don't beleive there is anything else we can do besides setting up a replacement.

Yeah, that was my guess...sadly, it's out of warranty...
